Elrasla Ragnarok (エルラスラ=ラグラロック Erurasura Ragurarokku?), more commonly known as Granny (ババア Babā?), is an elderly woman who states that her level is the same as her age.

The sole successor of the Hengen Musou style of martial arts. She now serves as Rock Valley's combat instructor.

Appearance[]

Elrasla is an elderly, short person. She wears a Chinese-style dougi.

Personality[]

Elrasla is constantly brimming with energy that belies her old age. Originally content to die a simple old farmer, Naofumi Iwatani's healing her has given her a new reason to live and determination to fight for him and the sake of the world. She has wisdom enough to understand the necessity of some of Naofumi's more questionable actions and heartily approves of many of them.

Background[]

Elrasla is one of the last practitioners of the Hengen Musou style of martial arts. When she was still young, a genius in the fighting style declared that her talent with the martial art meant that she should be made the ruler of the world and went on a rampage. Several of Elrasla's colleagues died fighting that person and Elrasla declared that she would be its last practitioner swearing off teaching the art.

She did, however, participate in Melromarc's previous war against Siltvelt and worked as an adventurer for a time. She hit the level cap a long time ago. At some point in time, she raised a male child to be her son. Eventually, she was inspired by Naofumi's actions to help train others in the Hengen Muso style.

Trivia[]

  • Apparently, Elrasla had a reputation in the Zeltoble coliseums which eventually got her banned from participating.[1]
  • While not outwardly materialistic, it seems that Elrasla's family is quite wealthy since she was able to afford the Elixir of Yggdrasil to heal herself.
  • Elrasla's family name has been translated several different ways including Grilaroc, Ragralock, and Ragnorok.
